Ex-Commission
Among activities related to conformity assessment problem area, Ex-Commission exists as a permanent expert body of Institute for standardization. It is engaged primarily in testing and certifying electrical devices used in spaces endangered by explosive mixtures of inflammable gases, vapors of inflammable fluids and inflammable dusts with air, but it also solves all other problems related to this problem area, whether in mines with underground exploitation or the ones at on ground places.
Ex-Commission work is based on provisions of Decree on mandatory attesting of anti-explosion protected electrical devices aimed for usage in endangered spaces (“Official Gazette of SFRJ” no. 25/81) and laws published on the level of B&H state (Law on technical requirements and conformity assessment of products, Law on market monitoring and Law on general product safety).
Experts for this field are appointed as members of Ex-Commission and also General Secretary that is employee of the Institute.
Basic tasks of Ex-Commission are:
- Organizing testing of electrical devices, domestic or foreign production, intended to be used in spaces endangered by explosive mixtures on ground places and in mines with underground exploitation, with aim of their certification,
- Review and approval of technical documentation for new types of Ex devices that the producers intend to certify,
- Creation of certificates for devices that satisfy prescribed conditions for work in spaces endangered by explosive mixtures, based on testing results, inspection of production quality system and its expert evaluation,
- Creation of expert opinions related to technical equipped and personnel qualifications of laboratories in order to acquire authorization for testing anti-explosion protected devices,
- Issuing proposals for foreign organizations-laboratories whose testing protocols can be approved in certification process of anti-explosion protected devices in B&H,
- Issuing expert opinions related to technical equipped and personnel qualifications of workshops for Ex devices reparation,
- Issuing approvals for education programs related to Ex protection and participation in personnel education,
- Following up development of international standards and regulations in area of Ex protection (through TC-6),
- Participating in inspection and evaluation of installed devices in mines and industrial plants endangered by explosive mixtures and
- Interpretation of valid regulations articles related to Ex protection area.
